Cinema has entered 2026 at full speed!

The beginning of the year is always a good time for cinema. This time was no different. The highest attendance was generated by two high-profile productions from last year and new releases that debuted on Fridays in January. In total, over 4.5 million tickets were sold, and viewers were able to see 41 titles on the big screen for the first time.

The list of the most-watched films in January is headed by a blockbuster production that has been in cinemas since December 19. This is the next installment of the cult saga – Avatar: Fire and Ashes, which is still popular and, according to our estimates, will remain in the repertoire for several more weeks.

The enormous power of cinema in the distribution process is also confirmed by Disney's animated film about the adventures of detectives Judy and Nick. Zootopia 2 was released in cinemas at the end of November and is still the most-watched animated film on the big screen in Poland. As with Avatar, the title will be available in cinemas until at least the end of February.

Third place on the podium goes to the highly acclaimed premiere of January 1, The Help. The film attracts attention with its high-profile cast, including Sydney Sweeney, currently one of the most popular names in Hollywood.

February: what to see at the cinema

February's premiere calendar looks exceptionally attractive. Beloved characters from Polish productions are returning to the big screen – Dalej jazda 2 (Keep Driving 2) and Piep*czyć Mickiewicza 3 (Fuck Mickiewicz 3). Valentine's Day will bring the long-awaited premiere of the adaptation of Emily Brontë's novel Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. It is a bold and original version of one of the greatest love stories of all time. We also cannot miss such gems as the return of Kill Bill to the big screen in Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. It is a combination of Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 in one coherent work, with a 15-minute intermission in the middle. Coming soon to theaters is the Oscar-nominated Sentimental Value and the important Polish production Duel, starring Jakub Gierszał and Aidan Gillen. The story tells of the clash between a young Polish officer and a ruthless Russian agent in a fight for honor and the lives of thousands of Poles.
